Havana, which is celebrating its 500 year anniversary since its founding this year, 2019, is known as a welcoming, diverse, and cosmopolitan city, receiving millions of visitors from all over the world every year. In the last few years, the tourism sector in Cuba has been looking to attract the LGBTI segment and reaffirms its governmental policy respecting the right to choose your sexual orientation and gender identity.
Little by little the island is shaping up to be a destination for the community, where the first online travel agency specialized in tourist routes designed especially for the LGTBI+ collective is already working. The opening of the future Axel Hotel La Habana – Telégrafo marks a solid step forward in the evolution of the collective in Cuba.
