On September 29th, the Gehitu association presents the Sebastiane Award to the film production presented at the San Sebastian Festival that best reflects the reality, freedoms and social progress of the LGTBI collective.
GEHITU’s Sebastiane Award wants to highlight the participation of 16 festivals from 5 countries in the VIII Meeting of Ibero-American LGTBI Film Festivals. This event will be held between September 25 and 27.
Festivals from Argentina, Chile, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay will participate in this edition. Within the peninsular, the Valencian Community will be represented for the first time.
With a mixed jury as last year (see article last year), this year are Arantxa Echevarría Jose Mari Goenaga Balerdi.

As every year, the September GEHITU Magazine is dedicated to cinema and serves as a catalog of the 11 candidates for the 24th Sebastiane Award.
As official partners of the awards, this year we get involved and among others, our favorite films are Les Rayons Gamma and 20.000 especies de Abejas.
When and where?
The 24th Sebastiane Award ceremony will take place at the KUR Gallery in front of the Kursaal, on Friday, September 29, at 19:00h but on Monday, September 25, the festivals will meet at a reception organized with Dioni’s pub at 20:00h.
On Tuesday, September 26, the meetings will close with an international LGTBIAQ+ MEETING, aimed at the industry and press who want to share a moment of diverse exchange within the San Sebastian Festival. Check agenda for more info.
