The time has come! Maspalomas Carnival 2020 is just around the corner and will have us all vibrating with excitement and enjoying an unforgettable experience full of colour, sparkle, and music.
This year, Maspalomas Carnival will take place from March 5th to the 15th. For more than a week, the town of San Bartolomé de Tirajana will host one of the world’s most famous carnivals.
Street musicians, troupes, dancers, drag queens… all will fill the streets of this town to spread the festivity and happiness these celebrations are known for.

What’s the theme of Maspalomas Carnival 2020?
We know that the theme of Maspalomas Carnival last year was Maspamoon, in commemoration of the anniversary of the moon landing.
This year, the theme of our Carnival is: “Musicals”. It will seek to capture the spirit of the great Broadway musicals that have delighted audiences worldwide. We will be able to see street recreations of Moulin Rouge, Jesus Christ Superstar, Dirty Dancing, Fame, Cats, and many more.
This year, the winning poster for Maspalomas Carnival 2020 is “La Metamorfosis”, by Iñaki Fernández, inspired by the transformative power of these festivities.
The poster features a masked woman wearing a seahorse costume and singing into a lighthouse-shaped microphone, with musical notes that add a feeling of movement.
